Editorial Policy

Every price, statistic, law and storm date on Roofers Greenville comes from a named source that we open, check and link on the page. If we can’t find a reliable source for a figure, we don’t publish it. This page explains where our numbers come from, how often we review them and how to report a mistake.

Who writes the content?

Pages and guides are written and reviewed by the Roofers Greenville Editorial Team. We are a referral service, not a roofing contractor, so we write as researchers: we explain what a good roof job includes and what it typically costs, and we point you to the official sources behind it.

Where do prices come from?

Cost figures come from published national cost guides, mainly HomeGuide, which documents its own research. No independent, methodology-disclosed price survey exists for Greenville or South Carolina, so:

  • We label national figures as national every time we use them.
  • We never invent a Greenville average or adjust national figures by a percentage.
  • When a local roofer publishes its own price range, we quote it as that company’s estimate, not as a fact.

Where do legal and licensing facts come from?

From the official text: the South Carolina Code of Laws for insurance and contractor rules, the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation for licensing, and city and county offices for permits. We don’t state a permit rule until the office that issues the permit has confirmed it.

Where do storm facts come from?

Only from official, dated records: the NOAA NCEI Storm Events Database and National Weather Service event reports. We never estimate hail sizes or how often storms happen.

How often are pages reviewed?

Every page shows a “Last reviewed” date. We re-check prices at least every six months and after any major storm, and we re-read the law before updating any insurance content.

How do we label things?

  • National vs local: a figure is local only when its source is local.
  • Illustrations: images on this site are illustrations, never photos of a customer’s roof or “our work”.
  • No reviews or testimonials: we don’t publish reviews, ratings or project photos, because we don’t do the work.

How does our referral model affect what we write?

Roofers Greenville is a free referral service; roofing work is performed by independent contractors in our network. Our guides recommend what fits the roof, including when a repair is the better choice, and say so when a cheaper option makes more sense. We never claim to inspect, install, repair or warranty anything ourselves.

How do I report a mistake?

If something on a page is wrong or out of date, tell us through the form on our quote page and choose “Other” with a note about the page. We check the source, correct the page and update its “Last reviewed” date.
